The retention & cohorts metrics are a range of metrics, charts and data all relating to the retention and ongoing usage of your mobile app by particular users. These charts and tables can be filtered to show the last 30 days for all apps, all time for all apps or for a specific app for a custom date range. You can also display cohorts on a daily or monthly basis.
This tab shows the number of users that opened the app on exactly X days after install date – this is a good proxy for how many users stay around. Using the data table below is also a good way to see how this trend progresses over different time periods and as time passes.
% Retention Cohorts
This tab shows the percentage of users that opened the app X days after install date.
% Rolling Retention
This tab shows the percentage of users that open the app after X days or more.
Different Days of Use
This tab shows the number of different unique days your users opened the app. This is useful for understanding how long most users stay around, and how many times they are likely to use your mobile app. It can be very insightful for working out when re-engagement messages, or messages to combat churn should be delivered.
% Return Rate
This tab shows the percentage of users opening the app at least a 2nd time within the timeframe specified. This will always trend up the longer it goes, and will give insight into when users are most likely to first return.
